For years I have gone back and forth on writing a blog, wondering would anyone be interested in what I had to share. After creating Sabine’s Cuisine Facebook page a few years ago and posting pictures, tips, tricks and recipes it finally dawned on me that I am technically blogging and people ARE reading, so why not make it official!
Here it goes…
I figured my first post should be an overview of what my blog will be about and it will probably evolve over time as all things should. When I first started out as a personal chef my mission was to prepare healthy food for families who either didn’t have the time or the desire to cook. That is still my underlying mission and I now specialize in clean, allergen free cooking and have branched out to Children Birthday Parties and Meal Prep Workshops where I can teach people how to prepare healthy food for themselves.
However, I don’t want to preach clean eating, I want to teach it! I am the first one to grill up some glutenous bread to dip in my homemade pesto, to whip up a batch of my famous chicken pot pies with its deliciously rich gravy or have a glass or two of my favorite red wine. I suffer no guilt in doing so because 85%-90% of the time I eat clean. My goal is to provide recipes and tools to help people be successful with clean eating but also to be realistic. I will post recipes I have “cleaned-up” or created, healthy substitutions for unhealthy and inflammation or allergen causing ingredients, tips on meal prep, ideas for meal planning and some “not so clean” recipes for entertaining or for those days you deserve a special treat.
I tell people all the time, “You only live once, you want to live it well but you don’t ever want to feel deprived, especially when it comes to food.”
This will probably be my longest post! Those who know me know I love to talk but I am not that way with typing, I just don’t have the time. If I don’t have the time to type, YOU most likely don’t have the time to read it. So my goal is to be short, sweet, and to the point! If anyone wants to delve further into a particular post, PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS! Isn’t that what a blog is all about?? Conversation – what worked for you, what didn’t work (Trust me, you can’t hurt my feelings…it is called constructive criticism and we can all benefit from hearing about trials and errors!), questions on ingredient substitutions, or have a recipe you want me to CLEAN UP… I could keep going but I think you get the point.
**STAY TUNED- The first episode of A Cleaner Plate on WACA-TV is coming this month, it is in the final stages of editing!! I am excited but also nervous as to how it turned out!!! I will be posting the link HERE and on my FB page for all to see.
